Born on October 31, 1967, Prophet Matthews is the seventh of eighteen children born to Bishop Nathaniel and the late Mrs. Suzanne Matthews. His upbringing was steeped in holiness, faith, and service, laying the foundation for his lifelong devotion to ministry. He is a devoted father and grandfather, embodying the strength of family values and Christian leadership that began with his late mother's legacy of prayer and love.

Education and Ministry Preparation

Prophet Matthews attended Joliet Township High School Central, Joliet Junior College, and The Economic Business Institute, where he developed strong administrative and business principles that would later support his leadership in ministry. In February 1996, he was licensed to preach the Gospel and soon appointed Chairman of the Finance Committee under the leadership of his father, Bishop Nathaniel Matthews, founder of The Way of Life Holiness Church, Inc. In July 1997, he was ordained and appointed International Youth President of the Apostolic Assembly Way of Holiness Church of God, Inc., under the late Bishop George King.

He served as Financial Accountability Officer for the International Youth Department and Chairman of the Youth Convention, demonstrating excellence in both administration and spiritual leadership. Prophet Matthews completed Ministerial Protocol and Etiquette for Leadership and Altar Workers Training. In February 2001, he received Apostolic Prophetic Impartation into the Ascension Office of the Prophet, and in September 2006, he was ordained to the Pastoral Office.

Leadership and Ministry Vision

Prophet Matthews is the Senior Pastor of Restoration Foundation Prophetic International Ministries in Harvey, Illinois, and oversees Restoration Destiny Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is also the founder of Laron Matthews Ministries, headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, through which he continues to equip leaders, edify believers, and expand prophetic awareness worldwide. He conducts Prophetic Explosion Crusades and Conferences across the nation, empowering believers through revelation, healing, and the demonstration of God's power.

Community and Civic Engagement

In addition to his ministerial calling, Prophet Matthews has made a significant civic impact. He founded the Inner-City Counselors and Training Program for the Joliet Park District, re-establishing one of the most vital intergovernmental agreements in Will County, Illinois. He also served as a member of the Will County Gang Task Force, partnering with local and state leaders to promote peace, family stability, and community restoration.

Academic and Literary Accomplishments

Prophet Matthews is a graduate of American Bible University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry and a Master's Degree in Christian Counseling. He is licensed through the New Covenant Christian Counselors Association. In 2017, he received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from American Bible University, and in June 2018, he earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Christian Education from Global Evangelical Christian College and Seminary in Montgomery, Alabama.

A prolific author, Prophet Matthews has written three powerful books that reflect his divine insight and revelation: Love: The Unfinished Chapter; Love: The Unfinished Chapter — What Should've Been Told; and The Encounter with Wisdom: The Secret of Her. Each work carries a prophetic message of love, healing, and divine understanding.
